For those photographers who haven't heard about it, I wholeheartedly recommend entering the StarShooter: Phototherapy for Kids Annual Photo Contest. The grand prize is a Canon EOS 7D or $1000 US.

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." - James Chapter 1 (New International Version)
There is no greater moment to the day than the point when the sun sits just below the horizon, proclaiming the coming day in a visual symphony of blues and reds, oranges, pinks and yellows swept across the clouds and sky. This has become my greatest reason to be thankful for my eyesight and I consider it a privilege to share it on this site. My hope is that my photography accurately reflects my vision and vice versa. Photography has the ability to capture those fleeting moments that move the soul and preserve them to be shared with others.
Engine3Photo... where did the name come from? A lifetime ago, William R Murphy, Jr. was a volunteer firefighter in a little seaside community called Old Orchard Beach. He was a dedicated man who would always be there to help out. On December 7th many years ago, he answered a call to aid a dog that had fallen through the ice at a pond up the street. It was the last call he would answer. The next firetruck put into service was dedicated to his memory as well as his father's. That truck was Engine 3 and my business is dedicated to my parents just as that truck was.
My name is David Henry Murphy and I welcome you here and invite you to look around and enjoy the beauty of Maine through my eyes. For any inquiries, please feel free to contact me at engine3photo@gmail.com.
